Contacts
The audience your inbox and automations build up. Studio, then Contacts.
Where they come from
Contacts are created automatically. Anyone who DMs you, replies to a story, or triggers an automation becomes one. There is no import, and you do not add them by hand.
Tags
The only thing you edit here. Type a tag name and it is created if it does not exist, scoped to the brand.
Tags are what make automations selective:
- Apply tags when an automation fires, so you can tell later who asked about what
- Require tags so an automation only runs for people already tagged
- Skip tags so it never runs for someone tagged, for example an existing customer
That combination is how you build a simple funnel without another tool.
Search and filter
Search by name or handle, filter by tag. The list pages as you scroll.
Names may be missing
Contacts can show as bare numeric ids
Handles and display names get filled in by a daily enrichment job.
That job does nothing at all while the automations dry-run switch is on, and it defaults to on. So on a fresh setup you will see raw Instagram ids instead of names.
Turn the dry-run switch off and the next run fills them in.
What this is not
Not a CRM. There are no notes, no custom fields, no pipeline stages, no export. It is a tagged list of people who have talked to you, and it exists to make automations selective.
Privacy
Contacts hold what Instagram gives us: an id, a handle, a name when available, and the messages exchanged. Nothing is enriched from third-party sources.
