Identities
Who a carousel's slides speak as. An identity carries a name, an accent colour, a handle, a URL, and two optional pictures: a logo (a horizontal wordmark that replaces the name in a masthead) and a photo (a headshot shown beside the handle in a byline).
Studio, then Media, then the Templates tab. Identities live in their own section on that page, next to the templates they print on.
A carousel needs one
Designing or rendering a carousel needs the brand to have at least one identity, for its accent, handle and name. Nothing else in the product requires one: not comment drafting, not idea import, not a plain text post, and not a text card, which is signed by the account it goes to unless you pick an identity.
The fields
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Name | Printed in a masthead, unless a logo replaces it |
| Handle | Shown in the byline on every slide |
| URL | The link a slide's byline can carry |
| Accent colour | The one colour every template pulls from |
| Logo | A horizontal wordmark image. Replaces the name wherever a template prints profile.mark |
| Photo | A headshot shown beside the handle. Copyable from a connected account's own avatar, or uploaded separately |
Accent colour
The accent always comes from the identity, never the template. One template can serve every identity a brand has, and each carousel renders in its own colour. See Templates.
Several identities
Create more than one when the same brand posts carousels under more than one name: a founder's own byline alongside the brand's, or two languages.
Each carousel picks its own identity directly, changeable any time in its editor. A template can also name a default identity, the one a new carousel from it starts with.
What does not live here
Connected social accounts are per brand, not per identity. Several identities share one set of connections.
Voice, writing sample and content pillars: how the brand writes. See Voice. Persona: who the brand is, its niche and audience. See Persona.
An identity carries none of that. It never did more than style a carousel's slides.
